Henry Hall is a Director at Critical Resource. Henry has over 10 years experience working on ESG issues in the mining and energy sectors. He leads Critical Resource’s mining team. In terms of geographic interests he is a generalist maintaining his knowledge and networks in most resource rich countries, but has particularly strong experience in coastal West Africa. He has led mining client assignments, in a number of Balkan countries including Bosnia, Greece, Macedonia, and Serbia.
Before joining Critical Resource Henry spent time at africapractice where he worked on stakeholder engagement and media relations at a large mining project in Guinea. Henry also spent time in Washington DC at the Stimson Centre working on non-traditional security threats in the Indian Ocean region, including natural resource and water issues, and also at the Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty in the insurance sector. Henry has a first-class MA in History and Politics at Edinburgh University and an MSc in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. For five years Henry also authored a blog on China’s engagement with Africa, and he has written extensively on the subject, and appeared on radio and television for various international media on a number of topics.
