David Livingstone is an independent consultant who advises governments and large-scale industrial organisations on the development of technology to support long term strategic business change.

Following the Brumadinho tailings dam disaster of 2019, and having worked in the mining sector for the previous seven years, he became closely involved in the advancement of satellite-based observation methodologies to provide early warning of potential TSF failures, and at global scale.

In early 2020 he became an adviser to the Investor Mining and Tailings Safety Initiative which is led jointly by the Church of England Pensions Board and the Council for Ethics for Swedish Public Pensions Funds, on behalf of the Principles for Responsible Investment.
