Aleksandar Obrenovic, President of the Board of Serbian Canadian Business Association (CANSEE), is the Director of Balkan Exploration and Mining d.o.o, Serbian mineral exploration company 100% owned by Nevsun Resources Ltd. (TSX: NSU), Canadian leading mid-tier base metals company.
Prior to joining Nevsun he served as a VP Exploration (till Aug 2014.) and Country Manager (till June 2016.) of Canadian mineral exploration company Reservoir Minerals Inc. (TSX: RMC.V).
Before that he was the director and principal geologist of Serbian subsidiaries of Canadian juniors Reservoir Capital Corp. (TSX: REO.V) and Eurasian Minerals Inc. (TSX: EMX.V) and has experience of 12 years working in Serbian National Geological Institute "Geoinstitut" - Beograd, participating in several international and Serbia in-country mineral exploration projects and scientific studies.
Aleksandar Obrenovic is a Vice President and deputy Chairman of the Board of Society of geological engineers and technicians of Serbia and member of Society of Economic Geologists Inc. (SEG), CO, USA.
Aleksandar Obrenovic holds a degree of a graduate engineer of economic geology from the faculty of Mining and geology, University of Belgrade. He has over 25 years of experience in precious and base metals exploration and was a member of the editorial board and technical editor of several special geological publications and university textbooks.
As a member of the discovery team for the Cukaru Peki high-grade copper-gold deposit in Serbia, Aleksandar Obrenovic is a co-recipient of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), Thayer Lindsley medal, awarded for the most significant international mineral discovery in 2016.
